During this consultation, the therapist will evaluate goals for session depending on type of massage selected, the type of surgery, any open drains or bruising, and areas of inflammation to tailor the treatment.

 

2. Next, If you are doing a post surgery MLD you may feel weak in the first week, the therapist will assist you in getting on the massage table while ensuring you're comfortably covered with a towel.

3. Then, (MLD) will be performed focusing on the part of the body that will be worked on, using gentle, circular, and pumping motions. In some cases, your therapist may ask you to turn or sit briefly, depending on the surgery.

4. Afterward, the therapist will assist you and provide aftercare instructions to support your recovery.
